Pascagoula Office Administrative Assistant Katie Lee, has been with Compton Engineering for seven years. Her responsibilities include assisting the engineers with projects from beginning to end. Such tasks include preparing the contract documents, bid tabulations and recommendation to award, preparing construction forms for the contractor to use for the duration of the project, assisting the engineers in reviewing contractor payment applications, preparing change orders as required, and upon completion of the project, preparing close-out document.
Katie and her husband, William, have been married for four years and their pets include two treeing walkers named Slew and Tremor. In her free time, Katie enjoys coon hunting with William, barrel racing, and riding horses. Katie’s first vehicle was a 1996 GMC Sierra and her first job was as a file clerk for Gautier/Vancleave Medical Clinic. Prior to joining Compton Engineering, Katie was employed by the Jackson County Road Department for two years.
Katie’s pet peeves include smacking and chewing with your mouth open. The best advice she ever received was from her father: “Try not to burn bridges; you never know when you will need to cross back over them”. And it is the same advice she often shares with others.
Katie’s favorite vacation was when she and William took a quick trip to pick up a horse and had a series of mishaps along the way. It is a cherished memory they look back on and just have to laugh. Another favorite was taking a bus trip up through Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Canada–a pretty awesome trip.
Katie values honesty most in people. Her happiest and most treasured childhood memories are of the time spent every weekend with her grandma Nell and when her parents surprised her with the pony she wanted in the third grade for which she wassaving her allowance.
